       Course Description & Calendar

This is an accelerated crash course for the College Board AP Statistics Curriculum and Exam. In four weeks we will be covering the first 8 units of the AP Statistics Course. Statistics concerns the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, skills which are vitally important to presenting research done at any level. The schedule of the course will proceed as follows:

    Week Units

    Week 1

    Unit 1: Exploring One-Variable Data

    Unit 2: Exploring Two-Variable Data

    Week 2

    Unit 3: Collecting Data

    Unit 4: Simulations

    Week 3

    Unit 5: Probability

    Unit 6: Random Variables

    Week 4

    Unit 7: Sampling Distributions

    Unit 8: Inference and Tests

Lectures and notes will be uploaded throughout the week along with practice problem sets when applicable. For pertinent questions, feel free to attend office hours or expect a response to emailed and messaged questions within 24-48 hrs.

       Course & Material Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this course or any additional materials beyond access to this LMS; however, it is highly recommended that you obtain a Ti-84 or newer graphing calculator; if this is not possible, the Desmos online graphing calculator performs most of the same functions. Please note, however, that the instruction in this course will teach how to use a TI-84 calculator, though any questions about Desmos can be asked during Office Hours. Additionally, please download the official 1) AP Statistics Formula Sheet.

A final note: you must click “start course” in order to access the lessons. You cannot simply access them by clicking in the curriculum tab; this is merely an overview of the course. The units for the next week will be posted each Monday morning. Again, this course is self-scheduled so you may choose to progress through each week’s units as you please. Happy lightning learning!
