Helyx FL Chapter | AP Jumpstart Program | AP Calculus AB
Welcome!
This course, created by the Florida chapter of the Helyx Initiative, is a 4-week accelerated AP Calculus AB class which will cover the essentials and give you a rundown of the whole course.
Instructors: Meryl Liu, Suhas Yarra
Prerequisites: It is expected that students have a foundation in algebra and precalculus.
Office Hours: This is the time to ask questions about the content and get help. During live sessions, we will also be doing cool reviews, such as Kahoot. Schedule an appointment with any of the instructors, by (1) emailing us, (2) direct messaging us through Discord, (3) or mentioning the calculus helper role in #office-hour-requests. We can help at any time in this method. We will also be hosting google meets sessions live on:
- Wednesday: 1-2 PM EST
- Saturday: 1-2 PM EST

Course Description & Calendar
This is an accelerated crash course for the College Board AP Calculus AB Course and Exam. In four weeks we will be covering all the topics on the exam. Calculus is the study of continuous change, in the same way that geometry studies shapes and algebra studies operations.

Welcome to Week 1 of Helyx Florida's AP Calculus AB Jumpstart Program! Taught by peers and led by peers! As of 8:00AM EST, Units 1 and 2 have been updated with all the most recent course curricula. In this first week, we will be covering foundations of Calculus, including a review of precalc and limits/continuity, but remember, this should NOT be your exclusive source of information; this is an accelerated zero-academic-credit 4-week course, and due to the pacing, some information relevant to the AP exam may be left out.
As such, Jumpstart AP is NOT sufficient for self-studiers: it should complement a class you will take soon or other extensive resources you are studying.
